Stitch markers arc used to set the pattern placement. When a marker is reached on subsequent rows, slip the marker from the left-hand needle to the right-hand needle.

As the pattern changes from a wide rib to swirls, the centre marker is moved. On the last WS char t row of each swirls section, the first and last markers arc left in place and the second marker is removed.

This marker is replaced on the first RS chart row of the next section, indicating the new swirls pattern placement.
