Short Row Wrap & Turn (w&t)
on RS row (on WS row)
1) Wyib (wyif), sl next st purlwise.
2) Move yarn between the needles to the front (back).
3) Sl the same st back to LH needle. Turn work. One st is wrapped.
4) When working the wrapped st, insert RH needle under the wrap and work it tog with the corresponding st on needle.
3-Needle Bind-Off
1. Hold right sides of pieces together on two needles. Insert third needle knitwise into first st of each needle, and wrap yarn knitwise.
2. Knit these two sts together, and slip them off the needles. *Knit the next two sts together in the same manner.
3. Slip first st on 3rd needle over 2nd st and off needle. Rep from * in step 2 across row until all sts are bound off.
Lace Pattern
(over multiple of 18 sts)
Rnds 1-4 Knit.
Rnd 5 *[P2tog] 3 times, [k1, yo] 6 times, [p2tog] 3 times; rep from * around.
Rnd 6 Knit.
Rep rnds 1-6 for chevron pat.
Notes
1) Body is worked in the round to the underarm, then front and back are worked back and forth in rows to the shoulder.
2) Lace pat may be worked from chart or text.
Body
With size 5 (3.75mm) needle, cast on 216 (234, 252, 270, 288) sts. Join, taking care not to twist sts, and place marker (pm) for beg of rnd. [Knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd] twice.
Change to size 6 (4mm) needle.
Beg lace pat
Rnd 1 Work 18-st rep of lace pat 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) times around.
Cont to work lace pat in this way until rnds 1-6 of lace pat have been worked 15 times.
Change to size 5 (3.75mm) needle.
For size Small only
Dec rnd [K2tog, k16] 12 times—204 sts.
For size Medium only
Dec rnd [K2tog, k37] 6 times—228 sts.
For all sizes
Work in St st (k every rnd) until piece measures 15"/38cm from beg—204 (228, 252, 270, 288) sts.
Divide for armholes
Next rnd K102 (114, 126, 135, 144) sts for back, turn, leaving rem sts on hold for front.
Cont in St st (k on RS, p on WS) over back sts until armhole measures 8 (8 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 9)"/20.5 (21.5, 21.5, 23, 23)cm, end with a RS row.

Finishing
Join shoulders using 3-needle bind-off.
Neckband
With RS facing and size 4 (3.5mm) circular needle, beg at right shoulder seam, pick up and k 1 st at seam, 36 (40, 42, 45, 46) sts along back neck edge, 1 st at seam, 26 (29, 29, 32, 32) sts along left front neck edge, pm, 2 (2, 2, 3, 2) sts along center front bound-off sts, 26 (29, 29, 32, 32) sts along right front neck edge—98 (102, 104, 114, 114) sts. Join and pm for beg of rnd.
Rnd 1 P to marker before center sts, sl marker, p2tog (p2tog, p2tog, p3tog, p2tog), p to end.
Rnd 2 K to 1 st before marker, S2KP removing marker, slip dec'd st back to LH needle and replace marker before dec'd st, slip st back to RH needle, k to end.
Rnd 3 Purl.
Rnd 4 Rep rnd 2.
Bind off purlwise.
Armhole edging
With RS facing and size 4 (3.5mm) circular needle, beg at underarm, pick up and k 96 (102, 102, 108, 108) sts evenly around armhole edge. [P 1 rnd, k 1 rnd] twice. Bind off purlwise.
Block lightly to measurements.
