A Cream 634 9 [11: 12] x25g,

B Steel 664 1 [1: 1] x25gm

C Smoke 605 1 [1: 1] x25gm

D Turkish Plum 660 1 [1: 1] x25gm

TENSION

25 scs and 34 rows to 10 cm measured over st st using 3 1/4mm (US 3) needles and Kidsilk Haze SINGLE.

NEEDLES

1 pair 2 3/4mm (no 12) (US 2) needles

1 pair 3 1/4mm (no 10) (US 3) needles

2 3/4mm (no 12) (US 2) circular needle, no more than 50cm long (or set of 4 double-pointed needles)

3 1/4mm (no 10) (US 3) circular needle, at least 90cm long

BACK

Using 2 3/4mm (US 2) needles and yarn A DOUBLE cast on 141 [171: 187] sts.

Row 1 (RS): K1, *P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Row 2: As row 1.

These 2 rows form moss st.

Work in moss st for a further 6 rows, ending with RS facing for next row.

Change to 3 1/4mm (US 3) needles.

Using a separate 2nd ball of yam for each side opening border and one ball of yarn for all sts, cont as folls:

Row 9 (RS): Using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts, using yarn A SINGLE K to last 5 sts, using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts.

Row 10: Using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts, using yarn A SINGLE P to last 5 sts, using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts.

These 2 rows set the sts - 5 sts at each end of rows still in moss st using yarn DOUBLE and all other sts now in st st using yarn SINGLE. Keeping sts correct as now set, cont as folls:

Row 11 (RS): Using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts, using yarn A SINGLE M 1, K to last 5 sts, M 1, using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts. 143 [173: 189] sts.

Row 12: As row 10.

Row 13: As row 9.

Row 14: Using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts, using yarn A SINGLE M1P, P to last 5 sts, M1P, using yarn A DOUBLE moss st 5 sts. 145 [175: 191] sts.

Working all increases as now set, inc 1 st at each end of 3rd and 12 foll 3rd rows, taking inc sts into st st using yam A SINGLE. 171 [201:217] sts.

Work 1 row, ending with RS facing for next row. Place markers at both ends of last row (to denote top of side seam openings).

Break off second balls of yarn A and now cont in st st across all sts using yarn A SINGLE throughout as foils:

Inc 1 st at each end of 2nd and every foll 3rd row to 281 [313: 321] sts, then on 0 [2: 6] foll 4th rows. 281 [317: 333] sts. (Note: As the number of sts increases and there becomes too many to fit comfortably on needles, change to circular needle.)

**Work 2 [3: 3] rows, ending with RS facing for next row.

Place markers at both ends of last row (to denote base of cuff openings).

Work 22 [24: 26] rows, ending with RS facing for next row.

Shape back neck

Next row (RS): K117 [134: 141] and turn, leaving rem sts on a holder.

Work each side of neck separately.

Dec 1 st at neck edge of next 12 rows, then on foll alt row. 104 [121: 128] sts.

Work 3 rows, ending with RS facing for next row.***

Break yarn and leave sts on a holder (for right shoulder/overarm seam).

With RS facing, slip centre 47 [49: 51] sts onto another holder (for neckband), rejoin yarn and K to end. 117 [134: 141] sts.

Dec 1 st at neck edge of next 12 rows, then on foil alt row. 104 [121: 128] sts.
