Noro Silk Garden Lite (DK weight; 45% silk/45% mohair/10% lambswool; 137 yds/50g per ball) (3): 6 (7) balls each oranges, yellow, blue, grape #2125 (A) and blues, green, grey, yellow #2126 (B)
Size 7 (4.5mm) 16- and 32-inch circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Pattern Stitches
4-Row Garter Stripes
Rows 1 (RS)-4: Knit with A.
Rows 5-8: Knit with B.
Rep Rows 1-8 for pat.
2-Row Garter Stripes
Rows 1 (RS) and 2: Knit with B.
Rows 3 and 4: Knit with A.
Rep Rows 1-4 for pat.
Pattern Notes
Back and front are each worked as 3 mitered panels (1 lower and 2 upper) with shoulder and neck shaping worked in plain garter stitch. Sleeves are worked in striped garter stitch.
Back and front are worked identically; left and right refer to position of panels as they are knit, not as they are worn.
When shaping neck, work k2tog at edge.
Back
Panel 1 (Lower Panel)
Using longer needle and A, cast on 46 sts, pm, cast on 103 (123) sts, pm, cast on 46 sts—195 (215) sts.
Dec row (RS): [Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker, k2tog] twice, knit to end—4 sts dec.
Working in 4-Row Garter Stripes pat throughout, rep Dec row [every RS row] 43 times, ending with a RS row— 19 (39) sts.
Bind off kwise on WS.
Remove markers. Mark top of left dec line on bound-off edge.
Panel 2 (Upper Right Panel)
Using longer needle and B, cast on 54 (63) sts, pm; with RS facing, pick up and knit 58 (78) sts along top of panel 1 to marked left dec line, pm; cast on 54 (63) sts—166 (204) sts.
Working in 4-Row Garter Stripes pat throughout, dec on both sides of each marker as for panel 1 [every RS row] 29 (39) times, ending with a RS row—50 (48) sts rem with 0 sts between markers. Remove markers.
Bending circular needle cable, divide sts in half, with half on LH tip of needle and half on RH tip.
With WS facing and using shorter needle, join halves using 3-needle bind-off.
Panel 3 (Upper Left Panel)
With RS facing, using longer needle and A, pick up and knit 54 (63) sts along left edge of panel 2, pm; pick up and knit 45 sts across rem sts on top on panel 1 — 99 (108) sts.
Working in 4-Row Garter Stripes pat throughout, dec on both sides of marker as for panel 1 [every RS row] 44 times, ending with a RS row—11 (20) sts. Bind off kwise on WS.
Shoulders & Neck
With RS facing and using longer needle and B, pick up and knit 103 (123) sts along top edges of panels 2 and 3.
Beg with Row 2 of 2-Row Garter Stripes pat, work 11 rows even.
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 10 rows — 73 (93) sts.
Division row (RS): Bind off 3 sts, k22 (28) sts, including st on RH needle following bind-off; join 2nd ball of color being used and bind off center 23 (31) sts for back neck; knit to end.
Next row (WS): Working both sides at once with separate balls of yarn, bind off 3 shoulder sts, work to end—22 (28) sts each side.
Dec 1 at each neck edge [every RS row] 5 times while continuing to bind off 3 sts at each shoulder edge 4 (6) more times and 5 sts once.
Front
Work Panels 1-3 as for back.
Front Shoulders & Neck
With RS facing and using longer needle and B, pick up and knit 103 (123) sts along top edges of panels 2 and 3.
Beg with Row 2 of 2-Row Garter Stripes pat, work 3 rows even.
Division row (RS): Bind off 3 sts, k42 (48) sts (including st on RH needle following bind-off); join 2nd ball of B and bind off center 13 (21) sts for front neck; knit to end.
Next row (WS): Working both sides at once with separate balls of yarn, bind off 3 sts, work to end—42 (48) sts each side.
Dec 1 at each neck edge [every RS row] 10 times while continuing to bind off 3 sts at each shoulder edge 9 (11) more times and 5 sts once.
Sleeves
With longer needle and A, cast on 36 (44) sts.
Working in 4-Row Garter Stripes pat throughout, work 6 rows even.
Inc row (RS): K1, kfb, knit to last 3 sts, kfb, k2—38 (46) sts.
Rep Inc row [every 8 (6) rows] 10 (18) times—58 (82) sts.
Work even until sleeve measures 12 1/2 (14 1/2) inches, or desired length to underarm, ending with a WS row.
Shape Cap
Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 26 rows—6 (30) sts.
Bind off rem sts.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Block pieces to measurements.
Sew shoulder seams.
Neck Edging
With RS facing, using shorter circular needle and A, pick up and knit 106 (122) sts around neckline; mark beg of rnd and join.
Purl 1 rnd; cut A.
With B, knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd.
Bind off kwise.
Sew sleeve caps to body. Sew sleeve seams.
Sew side seams from top of panel 1 to underarm, leaving edges of panel 1 unsewn to create side slits.
