Wooly warmth is cool: The gray raglan pullover with a wide neck and jacquard pattern in a trendy rust color.

Size: Medium

Materials: Lana Grossa "Yak Merino" (20% Yak, 30% Merino Wool, 28% Baby Alpaca, 22% Polyamide, yardage = 110 m/50 g) 300 g dark gray heather (#11) and 100 g rust heather (#7).

Knitting needles one pair each sizes US 10,10 1/2 and 11 (6.5, 7 and 7.5 mm), one circular needle size US 10 (6.5 mm).

Rib Pat: K2, P2 Rib.

Stockinette st: Knit on RS rows, purl on WS rows.

Jacquard Pat: Work in St st following the Chart. When changing colors, twist yarns on WS to prevent holes in work. Carry colors not in use loosely across WS.

Full-Fashioned Dec: at beg of row: k1, SKP (sl 1 knitwise, k1, pass sl st over k1); at end of row: work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.

Full-Fashioned Inc: k1, M1 (insert LH needle into horizontal strand between last st worked and next st on needle, k through back loop of strand), work to last st, M1, k1.

Gauge:

St st with US 10 1/2 (7mm) needles: 13 sts and 20 rows = approx 4 x 4"/10 x 10 cm. 

Jacquard Pat with US 11 (7.5mm) needles: 14 sts and 15 rows = approx 4 x 4"/10 x 10 cm.

Note: The single color St st stripes are worked with US 10 1/2 (7mm) needles, the Jacquard Pat stripes are worked with US 11 (7.5mm) needles.

Back: With dark gray heather and US 10 (6.5 mm) needles, cast on 62 sts and work in Rib Pat for 2 1/2"/6 cm. Change to US 10 1/2 (7mm) needles and work in St st for 12 rows, inc 1 st on the 1 st row = 63 sts, and inc 4 sts on the last WS row = 67 sts. Change to US 11 (7.5mm) needles and work 13 rows Jacquard Pat, working k1 (selvage st), beg at arrow a, work rep 3 times, end at arrow b, k1 (selvage st). Be sure that the foll Jacquard motifs line up with each other.

Then work *17 rows St st with dark gray heather and US 10 1/2 (7mm) needles, dec 4 sts on the 1st row = 63 sts, and inc 4 sts on the 17th row = 67 sts, work 13 rows Jacquard Pat; rep from * twice more, end with dark gray heather. At the same time, when piece measures 15 3/4"/40 cm from beg, for raglan armhole shaping, work full-fashioned dec each side on next row, then every 2nd row 6 times and every 4th row 4 times. When armhole measures 6 1/2"/17 cm bind off rem 41 sts. 

Front: Work same as Back.

Sleeves: With dark gray heather and US 10 (6.5 mm) needles, cast on 30 sts and work in Rib Pat for 3/4"/2 cm. Change to US 10 1/2 (7mm) needles and cont in St st, inc 3 sts on the 1st row = 33 sts, and inc 2 sts on the 4th row = 35 sts.

Then cont to alternate 13 rows Jacquard Pat and 17 rows dark gray heather same as Back, beg with 13 rows Jacquard Pat. For the sleeve shaping, work incs and decs as foll: 1st Jacquard Pat stripe: on first row, k1, M1, beg at arrow c, work the rep once, end with at arrow d, M1, k1 = 37 sts; 1st dark gray heather stripe: on last row inc 4 sts evenly spaced = 41 sts; 2nd Jacquard stripe: inc 1 st each side on 1st row, dec 1 st each side on last row = 41 sts; 2nd dark gray heather stripe: on last row inc 4 sts evenly spaced = 45 sts; 3rd Jacquard stripe: inc 1 st each side on 1st row, dec 1 st each side on last row = 45 sts; 3rd dark gray heather stripe: on 1st row inc 1 st each side = 47 sts, then work 6 rows even.

Piece measures approx 18 1/2"/47 cm from beg. For the raglan cap shaping, dec 1 st each side on next row, then every 2nd row 8 times more, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off rem 23 sts. 

Finishing: Block pieces to measurements. Sew raglan sleeve caps into raglan armholes. With RS facing, dark gray heather and US 10 (6.5 mm) circular needle, pick up and k approx 126 sts evenly around neck edge. Join and knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd, knit 2 rnds, and dec 38 sts evenly on 1st rnd = 88 sts. Then work in Rib Pat for 2 1/2"/6 cm, and on the last rnd across the front and back neck sts, dec 3 sts evenly spaced (working p2tog in the p2 ribs). Bind off rem 82 sts in rib. Sew side and sleeve seams.
