Lana Grossa "Alta Moda Superbaby Fine" (63% Merino Wool, 27% Baby Alpaca, 10% Polyamide, yardage = 105 m/25 g) 500g Bordeaux (#1). 

Knitting needles one pair size US 7 (4.5mm), one circular needle each sizes US 6 and 7 (4 and 4.5mm).

Rib Pat: K3, P3 Rib.

Cable Pat A and B: Foll Chart A and B.

Full-Fashioned Dec: at beg of row: k1 (selvage st), k2, SKP (sl 1 st knitwise, k1, pass sl st over k1); at end of row: work to last 5 sts, k2tog; k2, k1 (selvage st).

Gauge: Rib Pat with US 7 (4.5mm) needles (after blocking): 24 sts and 28 rows = 4 x 4"/10 x 10 cm.

Cable Pat A and B = approx 3 1/4"/8 cm wide.

Back: With size US 7 (4.5mm) needles, cast on 173 sts. and work in Rib Pat for 4 3/4"/12 cm.

Then cont in pats as foll: k1 (selvage st), 54 sts Rib Pat, 21 sts in St st, 21 sts Rib Pat, 21 sts in St st, 54 sts Rib Pat, k1 (selvage st). On the 3rd row above rib, ihc 3 sts in each St st section = 24 sts in each St st section = 179 sts in total. Cont in pats as established until 12 rows have been worked above rib. Over the 24-st St st sections work Cable Pat A = right side and Cable Pat B = left side. At the same time, for the side shaping, work full-fashioned dec each side every 4th row 13 times, then every 2nd row 14 times = 125 sts.

Work even until piece measures 16 1/2"/42 cm from beg. For the armhole shaping bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows and 1 st at beg of next 4 rows = 101 sts. Work even until piece measures 23 1/2"/60 cm from beg, Bind off, working k2tog across the cable sts while binding off.

Front: Work same as Back until piece measures 22"/56 cm from beg. For the neck shaping bind off the center 21 sts and working both sides at once, bind off from each neck edge 6 sts 4 times. When piece measures 23 1/2"/60 cm from beg bind off rem 16 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeves: Cast on 89 sts and work in pat as foll: k1 (selvage st), k3, *p4, k3; rep from *, end k1 (selvage st). On the WS rows, k the knit sts and p the purl sts. Work even until piece measures 6"/15 cm from beg. On the next row, dec 1 st in each p4 section = 77 sts. Work even until piece measures 18 1/2"/47 cm from beg. For the cap shaping, bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, dec 1 st each side every 2nd row 15 times, bind off 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows and 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Bind off rem 23 sts.

Finishing: Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. For the collar, with RS facing and US 6 (4mm) circular needle, pick up and k approx 120 sts evenly around neck edge. Join and work in K2, P2 Rib for 4"/10cm. Change to US 7 (4.5mm) circular needle and cont in rib until collar measures approx 15 3/4"/40 cm. Bind off sts loosely. Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
