Materials

12 (13) (13) 100g (140m) balls of Wendy Aspire Chunky (80% wool, 20% alpaca) in Pollen (3247).

Pair of 5 1/2 mm (No. 5) and 6 1/2 mm (No. 3) knitting needles.

Tension

15 stitches and 22 rows, to 10 x 10cm, over pattern, using 6 1/2 mm needles.

Abbreviations

K, knit; p, purl; st, stitch; tog, together; wrap 1, slip next st on to right-hand needle, take yarn between needles to opposite side of work (to front of work after k st or to back of work after p st), place the slipped st back on to left-hand needle); dec, decrease (by working 2 sts tog); inc, increase (by working twice into same st).

Repeat these 2 rows, 23 times more, then work 1st row again.

Change to 6 1/2 mm needles.

Back:

Next row: Cast on 76 sts, p these 76 sts, then p to end - 102 sts.

1st row: K2, [p2, k2] to last 4 sts, p4.

2nd row: P to end.

Shape neck:

Inc 1 st at end of next row and at same edge on next 17 rows - 94 sts.

With 6 1/2 mm needles and a separate ball of yarn cast on 8 sts and leave these sts on a spare needle.

Collar

To make up
