PATTERN NOTES

The main body is worked flat, with a circular needle used to accommodate the large number of stitches and curve of the raglan. Sleeves are worked in the round using DPNs. If a circular needle is used to work the sleeves, use the Magic Loop method where necessary.

Cont in patt until piece meas 23 (25 1/2:28:31:33 1/2) cm from mrk placed at underarm gusset, ending after a WS row. Cut yarn, leaving approx. 100cm tail, and graft rem sets of 62 (62:72:72:72) sts of Right Half and Left Half together using Kitchener stitch.

SLEEVES

Using 4.5mm needles and your preferred method for knitting in the round, cast on 41 (41:51:51:51) sts. Pm and join to work in the rnd, being careful not to twist sts.

BEGIN CHART A

Rnd 1: Work Rnd 1 of Chart A across rnd, working 10-st rep 3 (3:4:4:4) times total.

Cont to work Chart A as set until Rnds 1-16 of Chart A have been worked 3 times.

BEGIN CHART B

Work Rnds 1- 6 of Chart B over all sts once.

SHAPE SLEEVE

Inc rnd: K1, M1, knit to last st. M1, K1. 2 sts inc'd.

Rep the Inc rnd every foll 6th rnd 11 (6:11:6:3) times more, then every foll 4th rnd 0 (8:0:8:13) times. 65 (71:75:81:85) sts.

Cont in st st until Sleeve meas 43 (44:44:44 1/2:44 1/2) cm from cast-on, ending last rnd 5 (5:6:6:7) sts before the end of the rnd. Place the next 10 (10:12:12:14) sts onto a piece of waste yarn and leave rem 55 (61:63:69:71) sts on a spare needle.

Make another sleeve in the same way.

UPPER BODY

With WS facing, re-join yarn to 54 (64:64:74:74) held sts of Right Half.

Next row (WS): P to last 13 sts, moss st 13.

SHAPE FRONT NECK

Note: For the Front Neck shaping, you are decreasing the st st section and increasing the moss st area. This means that except for the raglan decreases, the overall front stitch counts are unchanged.

Work the next 2 rows 1 (11:5:16:13) times.

Next row (RS): Patt to mrk, M1R, slm, K2tog, patt to 2 sts before the last mrk, SSK, slm, M1L, patt to end.

Next row (WS): Patt to end.

Work the next 4 rows 12 (9:13:8:10) times.

Next row (RS): Patt to mrk, M1R, slm, SSK, patt to 2 sts before the last mrk, K2tog, slm, M1L, patt to end.

Next 3 rows: Patt to end.

Front neck shaping is complete. After both front neck shaping and raglan shaping are complete, there should be total of 92 (110:108:126:130) sts: 26 (33:31:37:36) sts for each Moss st section, 2 sts in st st for each front, 3 sts for each sleeve and 30 (34:36:42:48) sts for back. Remove markers, then pm after the first and before the last 25 (32:30:36:35) sts, and after the first 46 (55:54:63:65) sts for centre back neck.

COLLAR

Note: You will now be working the Right Moss stitch section, gradually consuming half of the Back Neck stitches.

RIGHT BACK NECK

Work the foll 2 rows 2 (1:2:2:2) times:

MAKING UP

Remove markers.

With WS of Right Back Neck and Left Back Neck facing, join using the three needle cast-off. The seam will be on the RS, but when the collar is folded, it will be hidden. Graft the held underarm stitches to the underarms on body.

Weave in all ends.

Block to measurements, following any yarn care instructions on the ball band.
