YARN ALTERNATIVES
You can use any 4ply cotton to achieve a similar effect, although we advise a yarn with similar yardage so your top will not be too heavy. When substituting yarn it is even more essential to check the tension before beginning.
TENSION
Make a tension square before you begin as folls:
Row 1: 26ch, start in third ch, 1tr in 4ch, miss 3ch, S (see Special Stitches) in next ch, miss 3ch, 1tr in next 4ch, miss 3ch, S in next ch, miss 3ch, 1 tr in next 2tr, turn.
Row 2: 2ch, 2tr, S, 4tr, S, 4tr, turn.
Row 3: 2ch, 4tr, S, 4tr, S, 2tr, turn.
Rows 4 & 5: Rep rows 2 & 3.
Work 9 1/4 rows in highlighted section to measure 10 x 10cm/ 4 x 4in using 3.5mm hook, or size required to obtain tension.
