Size H/8/5mm crochet hook

Tapestry needle

GAUGE: 41/2 pattern reps = 4 inches; 3 pattern rows = 4 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SHAWL

Row 1: Ch 11, dtr (see Stitch Guide) in 11th ch from hook (first 70 chs count as first dtr and ch-5), turn. (1 ch - 5 sp)

Row 2: Ch 10 (see Pattern Notes), dtr in first dtr, (dtr, ch 5, dtr) in 5th ch of turning ch, turn. (2 ch - 5 sps)

Row 3: Ch 10, dtr in first dtr, [sk next dtr, (dtr, ch 5, dtr) in next dtr] across, ending with (dtr, ch 5, dtr) in 5th ch of turning ch, turn. (3 ch - 5 sps)

Rows 4-29: Rep row 3. At end of last row, do not turn or fasten off. (29 ch-5 sps at end of last row)

Edging

Working in ends of rows down side, (sc, hdc, dc, 3 tr, dc, hdc, sc) in end of each of next 28 rows, (sc, hdc, dc, 3 tr, dc, hdc, sc, hdc dc, 3 tr, dc, hdc, sc) in tip, (sc, hdc, dc, 3 tr, dc, hdc, sc) in end of each of next 28 rows, working in sts across row 29, sc in each ch and in each dtr across, join (see Pattern Notes) in beg sc.
