• Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted medium (worsted) weight acrylic/ wool yarn [3 1/2 oz/ 200 yds/100g per ball); (4):

2 balls #0149 periwinkle heather 

• Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

• Stitch marker

• Tapestry needle

• 1 1/2-inch button

GAUGE 12 hdc = 4 inches; 10 rows = 4 inches

Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Chain-2 at beginning of row counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Do not join rounds unless otherwise stated. Use stitch marker to mark beginning of rounds and move up as each round is completed.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Single crochet join (sc join): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

Getting started: Overlap 6 rows of each end of Band.

Rnd 1: With RS facing and working in ends of rows, sc join (see Special Stitches) in any row, work 63 [67] sc evenly sp around, working through both thicknesses where ends overlap, place marker (see Pattern Notes). (64 [68] sc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in each sc around. (64 [68] dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, fptr in next st, dc in same st, *sk next st, fptr in next st, dc in same st, rep from * around to last st, sk last st, join (see Pattern Notes) in top of beg ch-3. (32 [34] dc, 32 [34] fptr)

Rep rnd 3 until piece measures 8 [9] inches from lower edge of Band.

Crown

Rnd 1: Ch 3, fptr in next st, dc/fptr dec (see Special Stitches) around, join around first fptr. (32 [34] fptr)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, fptr in next st, [fptr dec (see Special Stitches) around next 2 sts] around, join around first fptr. (16 [17] fptr)

Size Small/Medium Only

Rnd 3: Rep row 2. Leaving a long tail, fasten off. (8 sts)

Size Medium/Large Only

Rnd [3]: Ch 3, [fptr dec around next 2 sts] around, join around first fptr. ([8] sts)

Both Sizes

Weave tail through sts. Pull tightly and secure.

EDGING

With 2 strands held tog, sc join yarn in first st of row 1 of Band, reverse sc (see Stitch Guide) in each st, working in ends of rows across lower edge, reverse sc evenly sp across. Fasten off.

Center button on overlapped ends and sew in place.
