Contrast 4 (C4) - 1025 Hot Pink
Contrast 5 (C5) - 1028 Violet
Contrast 6 (C6) - 1026 Electric Blue
Needles
2.50mm crochet hook Wool sewing needle
Tension
Hexagon measures 4cm across from point to point, using 2.50mm hook.
If hexagon is larger than 4cm, use a smaller hook; if hexagon is smaller, use a bigger hook.
Special abbreviations
join = enlarge lp and remove hook, insert hook from front to back into 1ch sp on 3rd round of adjoining motif, pick up lp and draw through sp, reducing lp size, cluster = * yoh, draw up an lp in specified st, yoh and draw through first 2 lps, rep from * in same st, yoh and draw through all 3 lps on hook.
STITCH GUIDE
MITTS (MAKE 2 ALIKE)
FIRST HEXAGON
With 2.50mm hook and C2, make 4ch and join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: 1ch, 12dc in ring, using C1, sl st in first dc. Break off C2.
Round 2: 2ch, (1tr, 1ch, cluster) in same place as sl st, 2ch, miss 1dc, * (cluster, 1ch, cluster) in next dc, 2ch, miss 1dc, rep from * to end, using M, sl st in tr at beg. Break off Cl. **
Round 3: 1ch, * 2dc in next 1ch sp, (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in next 2ch sp, rep from * to end, sl st in first dc. Fasten off.
NOTE - Mark this first hexagon with a coloured thread or safety pin to help identify your position later in the pattern.
SECOND HEXAGON
Using C3 in place of C2 and C6 in place of C1l, work as for first hexagon to **.
Round 3: 1ch, 2dc in next 1ch sp, 2dc in next 2ch sp, 1ch, join in any ch sp of first hexagon, 2dc in same 2ch sp of second hexagon, 2dc in next 1ch sp, 2dc in next 2ch sp, 1ch, join in next 1ch sp of first hexagon taking care to keep right side facing, 2dc in same 2ch sp of second hexagon, * 2dc in next 1ch sp, (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in next 2ch sp, rep from * to end, sl st in first dc. Fasten off.
Following colours from assembly diagram, make another 2 hexagons, joining to previous hexagon as before.
JOIN TO FORM TUBE
Following colours from assembly diagram, work next hexagon as for first hexagon to **.
Round 3: 1ch, * 2dc in next 1ch sp, 2dc in next 2ch sp, 1ch, join in previous hexagon (as before), 2dc in same 2ch sp of current hexagon, 2dc in next 1ch sp, (2dc, 1ch, join, 2dc) in next 2ch sp *, 2dc in next 1ch sp, (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in next 2ch sp, rep from * to * working joins in opposite side of first hexagon to form a complete circle of hexagons, 2dc in next 1ch sp, (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in next 2ch sp, join with sl st in first dc. Fasten off.
Following colours from assembly diagram and joining to adjacent hexagons as well as to previous circle as you go, work another 5 circles of hexagons.
Work another circle of hexagons, omitting one hexagon to form thumb hole. Work a final circle of hexagons, joining where possible to previous row, completing mitt.
