Main body of bag

Do not turn for the first 10 rnds.

Rnd 1: With A, working into a magic ring, 2 ch, 12 htr. 12 htr

Rnd 2: 2 ch (does not count as a st now and throughout), 2 htr in each st. 24 htr

Rnd 3: 2 ch, [1 htr, 2 htr in next st] 12 times. 36 htr

Finishing Rnd: With B, crab stitch evenly around edge.

Pocket flap

With A, chain 18.

Row 1: Starting in 3rd ch from hook, hhtr across. 16 sts

Row 2: 2 ch, hhtr across. 16 sts

Row 3: 2 ch, 1 htr2tog, 12 hhtr, 1 htr2tog. 14 sts

Row 4: 2 ch, 1 htr2tog, 10 hhtr, 1 htr2tog. 12 sts

Finishing Rnd: With B, crab stitch evenly around edge making a 10 ch loop at the middle front of flap to loop over duffle fastener.

Strap (make 2)

With B, chain 12. Join to work in the rnd, being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: 1 ch, dc across, turning as you go, work into the other side of the chain. 24 dc

Continue to dc around in spirals, without joining or turning until tube measures 75cm (or desired length to fit your shoulders).

Fasten off. Feed through a length of 25mm wide bunting tape to give strength to the straps.

Making up

Using tapestry needle and remaining yarn, stitch straps, top flap, pocket and pocket flap to main body of bag using photo as a guide. Sew on duffle toggles. Insert 8mm cord through eyelet holes and tie in a knot at front. Weave in ends.
