4 balls each in light beige 0206 (A) and dark grey 0506 (B)

About the yarn

Aran; 75m per 50g ball; 65% wool, 25% alpaca

Hook used

3.5mm

Sizing

Circumference: 67cm

Height: 34cm

When changing colour, work as follows: Work last tr with first colour until the last step, switch to next colour, yrh and pull through then work next tr. When working with two colours, hold the strand of the colour not worked over sts from previous round and work around so that it is hidden by the stitches above.

Start crocheting

Base

With B, chain 5, si st into first ch to form a ring.

Work following Chart 1 as follows.

Rnd 1: 3 ch (counts as 1 tr here and throughout), 11 tr into ring, join with sl st into first st.

Rnd 2: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, [2 tr in next st around, join with sl st into first st. 24 sts

Rnd 3: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 1 tr, [2 tr in next st, 1 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 36 sts

Rnd 4: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 2 tr, [2 tr in next st, 2 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 48 sts

Rnd 5: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 3 tr, [2 tr in next st, 3 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 60 sts

Rnd 6: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 4 tr, [2 tr in next st, 4 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 72 sts

Rnd 7: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 5 tr, [2 tr in next st, 5 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 84 sts

Rnd 8: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 6 tr, [2 tr in next st, 6 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 96 sts

Rnd 9: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 7 tr, [2 tr in next st, 7 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 108 sts

Rnd 10: 3 ch, 1 tr in same st, 8 tr, [2 tr in next st, 8 tr] around, join with sl st into first st. 120 sts

Main Body

Rnd 11: Following chart 2, 3 ch, tr around, join with sl st into first st.

Rep Rnd 11, following chart until Rnd 25.

Rnd 25: 3 ch, 2 tr 1 ch, miss 1 st, [3 tr, miss 1 st, 1 tr] around, join with sl st into first st.

Finish chart by repeating Rnd 11.

Strap

Cut 18 120cm lengths of each colour.

Place the strands together and tie a loose knot, leave approximately 12cm after knot. Distribute strands in 3 piles with 12 strands in each pile. Plait the three piles tog until plait measures approximately 68cm. Divide strands into 2 piles. Thread the 2 halves through bag, 3 tr apart, in round with holes. Tie the tog into a knot on the front of bag. Take the knot at beg of plait and fasten the end to bag the same way but in the opposite side. Make another plait the same way.
