Change to larger needles and work as folls:

Rows 3-4: As rows 1-2.

Row 5: As row 1, but work C4B in each place where k4 was worked.

Cast off firmly.


Work as Back to **, omitting placing marker. Dec 1 st at each end of next 4 rows. 112 [118:124:130:138:144] sts.

Next row: P2tog, p7 [8:9:11:13:14], work row 1 of Medallion Panel, patt to last 37 [38:39:41:43:44] sts, work row 1 of Medallion Panel, work to last 2 sts, p2tog. Keeping Medallion Panels correct and working rem sts as before, work 5 more rows, dec 1 st at each end of every row. 100 [106:112:118:126:132] sts.

Armhole shaping is now complete.

Still keeping Medallion Panel correct, divide for neck as foils:

Note: Centre 12 sts will now all be worked in st st and are used to frame neck edge.

Next row: Patt 44 [47:50:53:57:60], slip next 8 sts to cn at back of work, k4 firmly, now k8 from cn, patt to end.

Next row: Patt 44 [47:50:53:57:60], p6, turn. Cont on these sts for right half of neck.

Next row (dec): K5, skpo, work to end.

Next row: Work to last 6 sts, p6.

Noting that when Medallion Panel is complete main patt only should be worked, cont working dec row on every RS row until 44 [47:50:54:58:61] sts rem, then on every foll 4th row until 37 [39:41:44:47:49] sts rem.

Cont straight until Front meas same as Back to shoulder shaping, ending at side edge.

Shape shoulder

Cast off 8 [8:9:9:10:11] sts at beg of next row and 2 foll alt rows. 13 [15:14:17:17:16] sts.

Work 1 row straight.

Cast off 7 [9:8:11:11:10] sts at beg of next row (6 sts).

Cont straight in st st on rem 6 sts until strip when slightly stretched fits halfway across back neck.

Cast off.

With WS facing, neatly rejoin yarn to rem sts at neck edge and work to end of row.

Next row (dec): Patt to last 7 sts, k2tog, k5.

Next row: P6, work to end.

Complete to match right half.


Join shoulders. Stitch inner edge of the two neckband strips to Back neck cast-off sts, slightly easing in Back neck sts as you stitch. Join ends of neckband strips to form centre back seam.

Using smaller needles, RS facing, pick up and k127 [139:151459:169:181] sts.

Beg with row 2 work 6 rows in rib as on Back. Cast off evenly in rib.


With WS facing, block work to size. Press lightly following pressing instructions, omitting rib. Join side seams and armbands. Press seams.
