2 x 50g balls in Ecru 101 (A)

1 x 50g ball in Ruby 610 (B)

1 x 50g ball in Heather 46 (C)

1 x 50g ball in Blackberry 55 (D)

1 pair of 5mm needles

Note: Yarn amounts given are based on average requirements and are approximate.


20 sts and 24 rows to 10cm (4in) square over st st using 5mm needles.

Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.


When working from Charts, odd numbered rows are knit rows (RS) and read from right to left. Even numbered rows are purl rows (WS) and read from left to right.


Using 5mm needles and A cast on 43 sts.

Beg with a knit row work in st st from Chart A for 22 rows.

Rep rows 1 to 22 twice more.

Next row: Using A, knit to end.

Eyelet row: P2tog, p1, (p2tog, yon, p3) 8 times (42 sts).

Cont in rib as follows:

Row 1 (RS): K2, *p2, k2; rep from * to end.

Row 2: P2, *k2, p2; rep from * to end.

These 2 rows set the rib.

Work a further 7 rows in rib.

Change to C. Work 1 row in rib.

Cast off in rib.


Work as given for Back using Chart B instead of Chart A.


Weave in ends. Press pieces according to yarn band instructions. Sew bottom and side seams. Using D make a twisted cord, thread through eyelets to tie at centre front.
