■ 4 buttons for each mug hug

Finished cosy meas 8x26cm (3x10in) without button loops, fits mug 27cm (10 1/2in) circumference

MUG HUG

Using either Winsor or Shoot, ch20.

Foundation row Ch1 (does not count as st), 1dc into each dc to end, turn. Rep last row twice.

Work in patt as folls:

Row 1 (RS) Ch3 (counts as first tr throughout), 1tr into each of next 3dc, ch4, skip 4 dc, 1dc into next dc, ch3, skip 1dc, 1dc into next dc, ch4, skip 4dc, 1tr into each of next 4 dc, turn.

Row 2 Ch3, 1tr in each of next 3 tr, ch2, (1dc, ch1) into next ch-4 sp, (7tr, ch1) into next ch-3 sp, (1dc, ch2) into next ch-4 sp, 1tr into each of next 4tr, turn. 

Row 3 Ch3, 1tr in each of next 3 tr, ch1, *4-tr cluster into next tr, ch3, skip 1tr; rep from * twice more, 4-tr cluster into last tr, ch1, 1tr in each of next 4tr, turn.

Row 4 Ch3, 1tr into each of next 3 tr, ch2, (1dc into next ch-3 sp, ch3) twice, 1dc into next ch-3 sp, ch2, 1tr into each of next 4tr, turn. 

Row 5 Ch3, 1tr into each of next 3tr, ch4, skip ch-2 sp, 1dc into first ch-3 sp, ch3, 1dc into next ch-3 sp, ch4, skip ch-2 sp, 1tr into each of next 4 tr, turn.

Next row Ch1 (does not count as st), 1dc into each dc to end, turn.

Next row Ch1, 1dc into first dc, ch10, 1dc into each of next 6 dc, ch10, 1dc into each of next 5 dc, ch10, 1dc into each of next 6 dc, ch10, 1dc into last dc. [4 button loops formed]

Fasten off and weave in ends. Sew on buttons to correspond with chain button loops.
