PATTERN NOTE
Decrease for the raglans: K3, K2tog, K to last 5 sts, K2tog tbl, K3.
Increase on sleeves: K3, Ml, K to last 3 sts, Ml, K3.
BACK AND FRONT (bothahke)
Using 3.75mm needles and yarn B, cast on 53 (57:63) sts.
Change to 4mm needles and yarn A. Beg with a K row cont in st st until work meas 13 (15:17) cm from cast-on edge, ending with RS facing for next row.
SHAPE RAGLAN
Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
49 (53:59) sts.
Cont in st st, dec 1 st (see pattern note) at both ends of next and every foil alt row until 19 (21:23) stsrem.
Cast off all sts.
SLEEVES
Using 3.75mm needles and yarn B, cast on 33(35:37) sts.
Change to 4mm needles and yarn A. Beg with a K row cont in st st, inc 1 st (see pattern note) at both ends of 5th and every foil 6th (8th: 6th) row until there are 45 (47:53) sts. Cont straight until work meas 16 (19:21) cm from cast-on edge.
SHAPE RAGLAN
Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
41 (43:49) sts.
Cont in st st, dec 1 st (see pattern note) at both ends of next and every foil alt row until 11 (11:13) sts rem.
Cast off.
FINISHING
Weave in any yarn ends.
Lay pieces out flat and gently steam.
EMBROIDERY
Using duplicate stitch, embroider chart motif 9 (11:13) rows from cast-on edge and 9 (11:13) sts in from right side of front. Work a ‘leaf’ section of the chart (marked) on the back, approx. 5 (5:9) sts in from left edge and 12 (14:16) rows up from cast-on edge.
BUTTONBAND
Join both sleeves to back raglan seams and left sleeve to front raglan seam, leaving right front raglan open.
Using 3,75mm needles and yarn A, and with RS of work facing, pick up and knit 32 (34:38) sts up right sleeve raglan, 10(10:12) sts across sleeve top, 19 (21:23) sts across back, 10 (10:12) sts across top of sleeve, 19 (21:23) sts across front, and 32 (34:38) sts down front raglan. 122 (130:146) sts.
Next row (buttonhole row): K8 (8:9), * yarn forward, K2tog, K8 (9:10), rep from * once more, yarn forward, K2tog, K to end.
Change to yarn B and knit to end of row. Cast off using yarn B.
Sew buttons on raglan to match buttonholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
EMBROIDERY
With yarn C held double, work a running stitch around hem of sweater and cuffs of sleeves.
