With A, ch 8 (all sizes).

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch-7 sc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, working in BLs only, sc in each sc. Turn.

Rows 3-49 (51, 53): Rep row 2, Do not turn at end of last row.

Shape Body

Row 1 (RS): Ch i, working along one long side, sc in edge of same row and in edge of each row across-49 (51, 53) sc, Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as an hdc), hdc in each sc. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc and in top of beg ch 2. Turn.

Row 4: Rep row 3. At end of row 4, drop A. Turn.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 2, hdc in next 11 hdc, hdc2tog-13 hdc. Turn, leaving rem sts unworked.

Row 2: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc in next 9 hdc and in top of beg ch 2-12 hdc. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in next 9 hdc, hdc2tog over next hdc and top of beg ch 2—11 hdc. Turn.

Buttonhole Flap

Row 1 (WS): Ch 2, hdc in next 2 hdc, ch 1, sk next hdc, hdc in next 2 Hdc, ch 1, sk next hdc, hdc in next 2 hdc, hdc2tog over next hdc and top of beg ch 2—2 buttonholes. Turn.

Shape Right-Fronf Neck and Shoulder

Hold front with RS facing you, sk next 13 (15, 17) hdc; join A in next st.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc in next 10 hdc and in top of beg ch 2-13 hdc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in next 9 hdc, hdc2tog over next hdc and top of beg ch 2-12 hdc. Turn.

PULLOVER BACK

Work as for front to neck ond shoulder shaping.

Shape Right-Back Neck and Shoulder

Rows 1-3: Rep rows 1-3 of left-front neck and shoulder shaping. At end of row 3, fasten off.

Shape Left-Back Neck and Shoulder

Hold back with RS facing you, sk next 13 (15, 17] hdc; join A in next hdc.

Rows 1-3: Rep rows 1-3 of right-front neck and shoulder shaping. Fasten off.

Sew shoulder seams.

PULLOVER SLEEVES

Ribbing

With A, ch 7 [all sizes].

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch—6 sc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1; working in BLs only, sc in each sc. Turn.

Rows 3-31 (31, 33): Rep row 2. At end of last row, do not turn.

Shape Sleeve

Row 1 (RS): Ch 1; working along side, sc in edge of each row-31 (31, 33) sc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc on this and following rows), hdc in each sc, drop A.

Row 3: Join B in first hdc, sl st in each hdc and in top of beg ch 2. Fasten off B. Pick up A at beg of some row; working behind sl sis, ch 2, hdc in next hdc, in each rem hdc, ond in top of beg ch 2. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 2, hdc in next 2 (2, 3) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, (hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) 6 times, hdc in next 2 (2, 3) hdc and in top of beg ch 2-38 (38, 40) hdc. Turn. 

Rows 5-22 (24, 26): Ch 2, hdc in each hdc and in top of beg ch 2, Turn. At end of last row, fasten off.

FINISHING FOR PULLOVER

Fold buttonhole flap to bock and mark for button placement. Sew buttons opposite buttonholes. Tack armhole edge of row 1 of flap to lost row of right-back shoulder. Sew sleeves to armholes, matching center of last row of sleeve to shoulder seam of right shoulder and to tacked st on left shoulder. Sew underarm and side seams.

Neck Edging

Hold pullover with RS of bock facing you and button flap at top; join A in edge of first row of button flap.

Row 1: Ch 1, 28 (30, 32) sc evenly spaced around neck. Drop A. Do not turn. Join B at beg of some row, sl st tn each sc. Fasten off B. Turn.

Row 2: Pick up A; working behind sl sts, ch 1, sc in each sc. Fasten off.

HAT

Ribbing

Wilh A, ch 8 (all sizes).

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch—7 sc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1; working in BLs only, sc in each sc. Turn.

Rows 3-73 (77, 81): Rep row 2. Fasten off, leaving an 8"tait for sewing. With tapestry needle and long tail, sew short ends tog.

Body

Rejoin A in edge of first row of one long edge of ribbing to left of joining.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in edge of same row and in edge of each row around; join in first sc-73 (77, 81) sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 2 (counts as an hdc), hdc in each sc; join in top of beg ch 2. Drop A.

Rnd 3: Jain B in top of beg ch 2, sl st in each hdc around. Cut B. Pick up A; working behind sl sts, ch 2f hdc in each rem hdc. Do not join.

Note: Remainder of body is worked in continuous rnds, Do not join. Mark beg of each rnd.

Rnd 4: Hdc in each hdc.

Rep rnd 4 until piece measures 6 (6 1/2, 7)". Drop A.

Rnd 1: Join B in First hdc, sl st in each hdc around. Cut B. Pick up A; working behind sl sts in BL of each hdc, sc in each hdc.

Rnd 3: (Sc in nexf 4 sc, sc2tog] 10 (11, 11) times, sc in next 3 (0, 4) sc-53 (55, 59) sc.

Rnd 4: (Sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) 10 (11, 11) times, sc in next 3 [0, 4) sc-43 (44, 48) sc.

Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) 10 (11, 12] times, sc in next 3 (0, 0) sc-33 (33, 36) sc.

Rnd 6: (Sc in next sc, sc2tog) 11 (11, 12) times-22 (22, 24) sc.

Rnd 7: (Sc2tog) 11 (11, 12) limes-11 (11, 12) sts.

Fasten off, leaving a 12" tail. With tapestry needle, weave long tails through rem sts and drow up tight.

Petals

With A, ch 4; join to form a ring.

Rnd 1: (Sc in ring, ch 5) 5 times; join in first sc.

Rnd 2: *Sl st tn next ch-5 sp, work [4 sc, sl st) in same sp; rep from * 4 times; join in first sl st Fasten off.

Leaves (Make 3 Pairs)

With B, for first leaf in pair, *ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 2 chs, dc in next 2 chs, hdc in next chr sc in next ch*; for second leaf in pair, rep from * to * once, sl st in base of last sc of first leaf. Fasten off.

Tack one flower and one pair of leaves to hot just above ribbing. Tack other flower and one pair of leaves to front of pullover just above ribbing. Tack rem pair of leaves to neck edging.
