TANK TOP

BACK

Using 3.25mm (UK 10, US 3) needles and thumb method cast on 57 (63:71:75) sts.

Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to last st, k1.

Row 2: P1,*k1, p1; rep from * to end.

These 2 rows will now be referred to as 1x1 rib. Work 7 rows more in 1x1 rib.

Shape Shoulders

Shape Shoulder

Next row: Cast off 7 (7:8:9) sts in patt, purl to end. 7 (8:8:10) sts.

Next row: Patt.

Cast off rem 7 (8:8:10) sts in patt.

NECKBAND

Join right shoulder seam. With RS facing, using 3.25mm (UK 10, US 3) needles pick up and knit 38 (40:44:46) sts evenly along left side of neck, pick up loop between centre of V and knit into the back of this loop, pick up and knit 38 (40:44:46) sts evenly along right side of neck and 20 (24:26:26) sts from 22 (26: 28:28) cast off sts at back of neck. 97 (105:115:119) sts.

Starting with 2nd row of 1x1 rib proceed as follows:

Row 1: Rib to 3 sts at centre of V, insert needle purlways through back of 2nd st then 1 st st and slip both sts off needle tog, purl next st then pass 2 slipped sts tog over purl st, rib to end. 95 (103:113:117) sts.

Row 2: Rib to 3 sts at centre of V, insert needle knitways into 2nd st then 1 st st and pass both sts off needle tog, knit next st then pass 2 slipped sts tog over knit st, rib to end. 93 (101:111:115) sts.

Rep rows 1-2 twice then 1 st row once. 83 (91:101:105) sts.

Cast off in rib dec 1 st at each side of centre V as before.

ARMHOLE BORDERS (BOTH ALIKE)

Join left shoulder and neckband seams. With RS facing, using 3.25mm (UK 10, US 3) needles pick up and knit 55 (59:63:69) sts evenly all round armhole edge. Starting with 2nd row of 1x1 rib work 7 rows. Cast off in rib. 

MAKING UP

Join side and armhole border seams. Pin out garment to the measurement given. Cover with damp cloths and leave until dry. See ball band for washing and further care instructions.
