MATERIALS

Huntington by Valley Yarns, 1 3/4oz/50g hanks, each approx 218yd/200m (superwash wool/nylon)

• 1 hank in #23 sea gull

• One pair size 1 (2.25mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

• Size B/1 (2.25mm) crochet hook 

• Stitch markers

MEASUREMENTS

• Length 4"/10cm

• Foot circumference 4 1/2"/11.5cm

GAUGE

32 sts and 64 rows to 4"/10cm over garter st using size 1 (2.25mm) needles.

Row 2 and all WS rows Purl.

Row 6 Knit.

Rep last 2 rows 5 times more—73 sts and there are 17 sts between markers. Remove markers and place them to mark the center 15 sts, with 29 sts either side.

Knit 4 rows, slipping markers.

Instep

Row 1 (RS) K28, sl 1 wyib, sl marker, p3, yo, k3, SK2P, k3, yo, p3, sl marker (row 1 of lace panel 1 has been worked over the center 15 sts), SKP, turn.

Note Cont to work lace panel 1 over center 15 sts (slipping markers every row) and cont to add sts either side of center sts as foll:

Row 3 Sl 1, k1, p2, [pm, work row 3 of lace panel 2 over next 9 sts, pm, p3] twice, work row 3 of lace panel 2 over next 9 sts, pm, p2, k2.

Row 4 and all WS rows Purl. 

Cont to work lace panel 2 over sts between markers, and sts outside of markers on RS rows as established in rows 3 and 4, for 14 rows more, ending with a pat row 6, and dec 3 sts evenly on last WS row—38 sts.

Cuff

Row 1 Sl 1, k1, *p2, k2; rep from * to end. 

Row 2 Sl 1, p1, *k2, p2; rep from * to end.

Rep rows 1 and 2 for k2, p2 rib 4 times more. 

Bind off loosely in rib. Cut yarn, leaving long tail for sewing.

FINISHING

Sew back and foot seam.

With hook, make a 17"/43cm chain. Thread chain through eyelets in eyelet row. Make two 1 "/2.5cm pompoms and secure one to each end of chain. Tie bow at front.
