King Cole Cottonsoft DK in 100g (210m) balls, using a 4.00mm crochet hook.
Abbreviations
Ch, chain, dc, double crochet; tr, treble; dtr, double treble; dtrcl, double treble cluster: without completing last wrap, make 3 dtr in one ch, yarn round hook and pull it through all 4 loops on hook; trtr, triple treble: yarn round hook 3 times, insert hook and pull yarn through, [yarn round hook and pull through 2 loops] 4 times; st, stitch; slst, slip stitch.
Small scallops
This two-row edging couldn't be simpler.
Multiple of 6ch plus 3.
1st row (wrong side): 1dc in 9th ch from hook, [3ch, miss 2ch, 1dc in next ch] to end.
2nd row: Slst in first arch, Idc in same arch, * work 1tr, [1 ch, 1tr] 4 times in next arch, 1dc in next arch; repeat from *, ending 1dc and 1 slst in last arch.
Fasten off.
Open scallops
Again, only a two-row stitch pattern, but these scallops are very bold.
Multiple of 16ch plus 2.
1st row (wrong side): 1dc in 3rd ch from hook (counts as 2dc), 1dc in each ch to end.
2nd row: * 4ch, 1dtr cl in first of 4ch, miss next 7dc (do not count dc below dtr cl), ltrtr in next dc, [work 4ch, 1dtrcl in first of 4ch, 1trtr in same dc as before] 3 times, 4ch, 1dtrcl in first of 4ch, miss 7dc, slst in next dc; repeat from *, ending miss 7dc, slst in 2nd of 2ch.

Blocks
This interesting stitch consists of blocks tilted on one corner.

2nd row: 5ch, * miss 2dc, 1tr in next dc, 2ch; repeat from *, ending 1tr in 2nd of 2ch.

This is a more elaborate version of the trefoils.
