A scattering of butterflies has more impact than a single one.
Yarn: Turquoise (18) or Copper (109) and Irish Navy (52).
Wings: Using Turquoise or Copper, make 8ch, join with a slst into a ring.
1st row (wrong side): 3ch (counts as Itr), 5tr in ring, turn - 6 sts.
2nd row: 3ch, Itr in tr below (1 increase made), 2tr in next tr, 2ch, slst in next tr, 3ch, work Itr and 1 dtr in next tr, 2dtr in next tr, 4ch, slst in 3rd of 3ch. Fasten off.
Turn work to wrong side and join yarn in remaining ch ring.
1st row: 3ch, 5tr in ring, turn - 6 sts.
2nd row: 4ch, 2dtr in next tr, work 1 dtr and Itr in next tr, 2ch, slst in next tr, 3ch, 2tr in next tr, Itr in 3rd of 3ch, 3ch, slst in same 3rd ch as last tr. Fasten off.
Body: Using Irish Navy and leaving a long end, make 8ch, slst in 2nd ch from hook, slst in each ch to end. Fasten off, leaving a long end. Knot the body near to long ends to make the head, knot each end and trim. Sew body to wings, closing up space between wings.
