Row 1 (RS): Work PC in 9th ch from hook; *ch 2, sk 2 chs, dc in next ch**, ch 2, sk 2 chs, PC in next ch; rep from * across, ending last rep at **; ch 5 (counts as a dc and ch-2 sp on following row), turn.

Row 2: Dc in next PC, ch 2; *dc in next dc, ch 2, dc in next PC, ch 2; rep from * across; sk next 2 chs of turning ch, dc in next ch of turning ch; ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in first dc; *shell in next dc, sc in next dc; rep from * across, ending last rep with sc in 3rd ch of turning ch; ch 5, turn.

Row 4: Sc in center dc of next shell, ch 2, dc in next sc; *ch 2, sc in center dc of next shell, ch 2, dc in next sc; rep from * across; ch 5, turn.
