Popcorn stitch (PC): 4 sc in specified st or sp; drop lp from hook, insert hook in first sc of 4-sc group, hook dropped lp and draw through lp on hook, ch 1: PC made.

Instructions

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch; ch 1, turn.

Row 2 (RS): Sc in first sc; *ch 1, sk next sc, PC in next sc, sk next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * across; ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in first sc and in next ch-1 sp; *ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across; sc in last sc; ch 1, turn.

Row 4: Sc in first sc, ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; *PC in next ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * to last 2 sc, sk next sc, sc in last sc; ch 1, turn. 

Row 5: Sc in first sc and in next ch-1 sp; *ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last sc, sc in last sc; ch 1, turn.
