Front-post cluster (FPcl): YO, insert hook from front to back to front around post (vertical bar) of specified st and draw up a lp; YO and draw through 2 lps; YO, insert hook again from front to back to front around post of same st and draw up a lp; YO and draw through 2 lps; YO and draw through 3 lps: FPcl made.

Instructions

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch; ch 3 (counts as first dc of following row throughout), turn. 

Row 2: Dc in next st and in each rem st across; ch 3, turn.

Row 3 (RS): *FPcl around post of next dc, dc in next dc; rep from * across; ch 3, turn. 

Rep rows 2 and 3 for patt.
