Puff stitch (Pst): (YO, insert hook in specified st and draw up a lp to height of a dc) 4 times; YO and draw through all 9 lps on hook: Pst made.

Instructions

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch; ch 4 (counts as a dc and ch-1 sp), turn.

Row 2: Sk next st, dc in next st; *ch 1, sk next st, dc in next st; rep from * across, ch 4, turn.

Row 3 (RS): Pst in next dc; *ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, Pst in next dc; rep from * across, ch 4, turn. (Push all Pst to right side of work.)

Row 4: *Dc in ch-1 at top of next Pst, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1; rep from * across, end dc in last dc; ch 4, turn.
