Size 36/38 (40/42, 44/46)

Instructions are given for first size. Figures in parenthesis refer to larger sizes. When only one figure is given, it applies to all sizes.

Materials: 300 (350, 400) g of Lana Grossa Alcanto (70% polyester, 30% polyamide; 130 m/50 g) in Jeans (col 5).

Size 7 mm needles; size 7 mm circular needle, 40 cm long.

Garter st: K every row.

Center slip stitch detail: Worked over 9 sts.

Row 1 [RS]: * K1, yo twice, k1; rep from * 3 times, k1, yo twice.

Row 2 [WS]: * Sl 1 st as if to purl with yarn in front of work, dropping yos and pulling st up to elongate, k1; rep from * 3 times, sl 1 st as if to purl with yarn in front of work, dropping yos and pulling st up to elongate.

Row 3 [RS]: * Sl 1 st as if to purl with yarn in back of work, k1; rep from * 3 times, sl 1 st as if to purl with yarn in back of work.

Row 4 [WS]: * Sl 1 st as if to purl with yarn in front of work, k1; rep from * 3 times, sl 1 st as if to purl with yarn in front of work.

Repeat rows 1 - 4 throughout.

Gauge: 12 sts and 18 rows =10x10 cm in garter st on size 7 mm needles; 9 sts of center slip st detail = 7 cm wide.

Back: With size 7 mm needles, cast on 61 (65, 69) sts. Beg with a WS row, work in garter st and shape sides as foll: Inc 1 st at beg and end of 12th (14th, 16th) row from cast-on, then every foll 12th (14th, 14th) row twice = 67 (71, 75) sts.

Cont until back measures 30 (31, 32) cm from cast-on, ending with a WS row.

Shape armholes: Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at beg of next 6 rows = 51 (55, 59) sts.

Cont until armhole measures 21 (22, 23) cm, ending with a WS row.

Shape shoulders: Bind off 7 (8, 9) sts at each shoulder edge once, 6 (7, 8) sts once. Sl remaining 25 sts to a holder.

Front: With size 7 mm needles, cast on 61 (65, 69) sts.

Next WS row: Knit.

Next RS row: Selvage st, work in garter st over next 25 (27, 29) sts, work center slip st detail over next 9 sts, work in garter st over next 25 (27, 29) sts, selvage st.

Cont in pat as established until front measures 50 (52, 54) cm from cast-on, working increases for side shaping and armhole shaping same as for back.

Shape neck [RS row]: Sl center 19 sts to a holder. Working each side separately, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge once, 1 st once and when front measures same length as back to shoulders, shape shoulders same as for back. No sts remain after shoulder and neck shaping is complete.

Sleeves: With size 7 mm needles, cast on 38 sts. Beg with a WS row, work in garter st and shape sleeve as foll: IncĀ 1 st at beg and end of 12th (10th, 10th) row from cast-on, then every foll 12th row 3 times (then every alternating 10th and 12th row 4 times / then every foll 10th row twice, then every alternating 8th and 10th row 3 times) = 46 (48, 50) sts. Cont until sleeve measures 37 cm from cast-on, ending with a WS row.

Shape sleeve cap: Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at beg of next 18 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 8 (10, 12) sts.

Finishing: Sew shoulder seams. With size 7 mm circular needle, pick up and knit 54 sts around neck edge, including 25 sts from back neck holder and 19 sts from front neck holder. Join for working in rnds, purl 1 rnd, then bind off all sts knitwise on next rnd. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
