Slip dress can i leave the house like this? Certainly! This slip dress with opaque stockings also looks great paired with over-knee socks, trench coat, jeans or biker jacket.

Size: 36/38, 40/42, and 44/46. Figures for sizes 40/42 and 44/46 are given in parentheses, in ascending order, separated by a dash. If only one figure is given, it applies for all three sizes.

Materials: ITO “Sensai“ (60% mohair, 40% silk, approx. 240 m/ 267 yds/ 20 g): 80 (80-100) g of Pale Blush, col 235; addi knitting needles, size 3.5 mm (US 4-5).

Stocking stitch: k RS rows, p WS rows

Lace pattern: Work in rows, foll the chart. Read RS rows from right to left. In WS rows (not shown) work all sts as they appear and p yo’s. Horizontally, begin with the 2 sts before the 1st arrow, rep the 10 sts of the patt rep, between arrows, cont, and end with the 5 sts after the 2nd arrow. Vertically, rep rows 1 - 24 cont.

Full-fashioned decreases: Right edge: selvage st, k 1, skp = slip 1 st kwise, k foll st, psso. Left edge: Work to 4 sts before end of row, then k 2 tog, k 1, selvage st.

Tension gauges: 22 sts and 38 rows of lace pattern = 10x10 cm/4" x 4"; 24 sts and 37 rows of stocking stitch = 10x10 cm/4" x 4".

Back: Cast on 97 (107-117) sts. For the hem band, work 2 cm/3/4" = 8 rows of stocking stitch. Then work lace pattern, rep the patt rep 9 (10- 11) per row. When work measures 38 cm/15" = 144 rows from beginning of lace pattern = 6 times the patt rep vertically, change to stocking stitch. When work measures 22 cm/83/4" = 82 rows from beginning of stocking stitch, cast off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows, to begin armholes, and shape armholes as foll: dec 1 st on each side of every 2nd row, 5 more times then work 1 full-fashioned dec on each side of every 4th row, 13 (14-15) times = 53 (61-69) sts. When work measures 18 (19-20) cm/7" (71/2''-8") = 66 (70-74) rows from beginning of armholes, cast off remaining 53 (61 -69) sts.

Front: Work as for the back, but at same time as beginning of armholes, cast off the centre 19 (25-31) sts, for the neck, and complete each half separately. Shape armholes as for back. At neck edge, work 1 full-fashioned dec in every 6th row, 10 (11-12) times = 7 sts. When work measures 18 (19-20) cm/7" (71/2"-8“) = 66 (70- 74) rows from beginnng of neck, work stocking stitch over the remaining 7 sts, for 18 (22-26) cm/ 7'' (83/4"-103/4") = 66 (82-96) rows, for the strap. Then cast off all sts. Complete 2nd half in same manner, reversing shaping.

Finishing: Block pieces, dampen, and let dry. Sew side seams. Sew narrow edges of straps tog. Sew lower edge of straps to cast-off edge of back piece so that strap joining seam lies at centre back.
