MATERIALS

• Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/364 yds/ 198g per skein);(4):

1 skein each #324 bright yellow, I #390 hot red, #512 turqua, #672 spring green and #886 blue

• Sizes H/8/5mm and I/9/5.5mm crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

• Stitch markers

• Polyester fiberfill

GAUGE Size H hook: 11 sc = 3 inches; 13 rows = 3 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

PILLOW

BUTTON

Make 6 each blue, green, red, turqua & yellow.

Rnd 1 (RS): With size I hook and leaving an 8-inch tail, ch 3, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook (sk chs do not count as a st), join (see Pattern Notes) in beg dc. Leaving an 8-inch tail, fasten off. (12 dc)

TRIANGLE 1

Make 1 each blue, green, red, turqua & yellow.

Row 1 (RS): With size H hook, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, turn. (2 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next st. (3 sc)

Rows 3-45: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each rem st across, turn. At end of last row, do not turn. (46 sc)

Edging rnd (RS): Now working in rnds, [working in ends of rows, 2 sc in first row, work 44 sc evenly sp across to last row, 2 sc in last row] twice, 2 sc in first st of row 45, place marker on first of 2 sts just made, sc in each st across to last st, 2 sc in last st, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (144 sc)

Button Placement

Place a marker at both ends between rows 8 and 9, 21 and 22, and 37 and 38 for Button placement. Center a Button over each marker with Button edge even with Triangle edge. With tapestry needle, thread tails to WS and knot tightly.

TRIANGLE 2

Make 1 each blue, green, red, turqua & yellow.

Rep rows 1-45 and edging rnd of Triangle 1, omitting Button Placement. Do not fasten off.

Hold Triangles with WS tog and marked st of Triangle 1 facing. Stuff to desired firmness with fiberfill before joining rnd is completed.

Joining rnd: With size I hook and working through both thicknesses and in inner lps, join in marked st, sl st in each st to st centered at edge of next Button, [sc in centered st, ch 8**, sl st in each st to st centered at edge of next Button] 6 times, ending last rep at **, sl st in each rem st, join in beg sl st. Fasten off.

These colorful triangular pillows can be cleverly buttoned together for a variety of display options. Use them individually or join as many together as you like for different looks.
